Reception with the Prefet
On 26 March members of F-GB and other English business people in the Department of the Lot, were invited by the Prefect, M. Jerome Fillippini, to a reception in a grand salle at the prefecture in Cahors. M.Fillippini spoke at some length on the history of friendship between Britain and France ever since the diplomatic Entente Cordial was signed in 1904. Some 50 English and a few French friends represented the 4,000 (approx) English living in the Lot. Also present was Elizabeth Espitalie, founder of the F-GB Quercy sector. She has lived in Cahors for sixty years and met her husband here. She, like other members of F-GB were horrified by the Brexit result and M. Fillippini wished to stress that the English would still be welcome in the Lot. His speech was followed by a 'glass of friendship'
Le 26 mars, des membres du F-GB et d'autres hommes d'affaires anglais du département du Lot ont été invités par le préfet, M. Jérôme Fillippini, à une réception dans une grande salle de la préfecture à Cahors. M. Fillippini a longuement parlé de l'histoire de l'amitié entre la Grande-Bretagne et la France depuis la signature de l'Entente Cordiale diplomatique en 1904. Une cinquantaine d'amis anglais et quelques amis français représentaient les 4 000 (environ) Anglais vivant dans le Lot. Etait également présente Elizabeth Espitalie, fondatrice du secteur F-GB Quercy. Elle vit à Cahors depuis soixante ans et y a rencontré son mari. Elle, comme d'autres membres de F-GB ont été horrifiés par le résultat Brexit et M. Fillippini a tenu à souligner que les Anglais seraient toujours les bienvenus dans le Lot. Son discours a été suivi d'une " verre de l'amitié "
